Who we are

This website, nhbarnes.com, is operated by N.H. Barnes. If you have any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us at nh@nhbarnes.com.

What we collect

Google Analytics (only with your consent)

This site can use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and how they navigate the site. This only runs if you click “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. If you decline, or before you make a choice, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Analytics, when active, sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, and your IP address is processed by Google as part of this service. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.

Newsletter signups

If you sign up to be notified about the book, we collect and store your email address for that purpose only. We do not sell or share this address with third parties. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing nh@nhbarnes.com.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you submit, in order to reply to you. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Cookies

The only non-essential cookies this site can set are Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*), and only after you accept them in the cookie banner. The banner itself uses a small cookie (nhb_consent) to remember your choice for up to 12 months.

Legal basis

We process analytics data on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time with no effect on your ability to use the site. Newsletter and contact-form data are processed on the basis of your consent and to respond to your request.

Retention

Newsletter email addresses are kept until you ask to be removed. Contact-form correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry. Analytics consent choices are stored for up to 12 months, after which you will be asked again.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. To exercise any of these rights, email nh@nhbarnes.com.
